Dr.Suren Subramaniam is an Australian trained, qualified specialist surgeon.

He completed his General Surgery training in various teaching hospitals in Perth including Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gardner Hospital and Fremantle Hospital through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Pursuing his interest in surgical oncology and Thyroid surgery he completed 3 years of advanced fellowship training.

He is an experienced General Surgeon routinely performing laparoscopic hernia, Gall bladder, skin cancer surgeries, and other common emergency and elective general surgical procedures.

He is also a qualified Endoscopist performing regular Gastroscopies and Colonoscopies and recognised by the conjoint committee for the Recognition of training in Gastrointestinal endoscopy (CCRTGE).

Advanced Fellowship Training

His Surgical Oncology training was at Peter MacCallum cancer centre, Melbourne. He gained valuable experience in the multidisciplinary management of Melanoma and soft tissue sarcomas. His experience include surgeries in advanced Melanoma patients including skin grafts, flaps, sentinel Lymph node biopsy, Lymph node dissections, metastatectomy and isolated limb infusion.

His training includes a year in the Endocrine / Head and Neck surgical oncology unit in Wollongong hospital gaining valuable experience in the multidisciplinary management of Thyroid, Head and Neck cancer patients.

He also spent one more year gaining valuable experience in the multidisciplinary management of Endocrine surgery patients in one of the high volume endocrine surgery Units at Royal North Shore Hospital.  He also fine-tuned his skills in Thyroid and parathyroid surgery, working with high volume endocrine surgeons at Hornsby Ku ring gai Hospital, Mater Private Hospital, and Sydney Adventist Hospital. He learnt the nuances on the use of Intraoperative Nerve monitoring in Thyroid/ parathyroid surgery and its usefulness in Thyroid surgery patients.

He is also now part of Western Australian Kirkbride Melanoma Advisory Service (WAKMAS) in Perth offering care for advanced melanoma patients.
